Ionization in space!? Oh yeah!

L'ionisation dans l'espace!? Hé oui!

NASA contribution

It was NASA that put what nature already knew into practice and designed an ionization system for the Apollo flights. In the 1960s, the Johnson Space Center set up a research program to develop a water purifier that would be both light and small, while requiring minimal power and not requiring constant monitoring by astronauts in orbit.

So scientists at the research center created an electrolytic silver ion generator barely larger than a pack of cigarettes. The device was mounted at various locations in the water supply and wastewater systems and released silver ions to eliminate bacteria and viruses, without any trace of chlorine. NASA's ingenuity in controlling microbial contamination in space quickly took off, opening the door to safer methods of controlling water pollutants on Earth.

Blogue très intéressant! Qui aurait cru que l’ionisation était conçu par la Nasa? Ca prouve que cette technique est crédible et efficace.
