Did you know?
Copper-silver ionization technology was developed by NASA in the 1960s to purify drinking water during space missions. Today it is used in swimming pools and for drinking water around the world.

Precise ion diffusion
- The continuous output current compensates for factors such as temperature, conductivity, and salinity. Without this feature, there may be excessive electrode wear and excess ionization, or on the other hand, insufficient copper ions causing large amounts of bacteria or algae growth.
Automatic regulation
- Proportional regulation ensures automatic maintenance for the user. Without this microprocessor that controls the ion concentration in the water, it is very difficult to regulate the ion level, even with very regular maintenance.
This technology makes maintenance easier and ensures rigorous monitoring even when you are not there.
LED indicator light
- The LED indicator light confirms that the system is ionizing the pool water. For the light to illuminate, the electrode must be fully submerged in the water and a flow of at least 80 mA must be flowing from the electrodes to the water. The electrodes must be intact enough to ionize at this rate, allowing you to know when the electrode is corroded and when it needs to be
replaced.

ClearBlue Silver and Copper technology uses ionization to eliminate bacteria, algae, and impurities from water, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical treatments. Copper and silver electrodes release active ions that effectively purify water, reducing chlorine usage while ensuring healthy, crystal-clear water.

What does ionization of your pool or spa water mean?
Ionization treatment involves releasing small amounts of copper and silver into your pool water. The copper and zinc ions destroy algae, while the silver ions disinfect and eliminate bacteria and viruses. The system constantly maintains a concentration of ions in the water to keep the water pure and healthy.
Effects of different ions on water:
- Silver (Ag) destroys bacteria and viruses
- Copper (Cu) destroys algae and fungi
- Zinc (Zn) helps keep ions suspended

How does ionization work?
The ionizer containing the electrodes is placed on the pool's filtration circuit. A microprocessor controls the emission of a small electrical discharge so that it diffuses ions throughout the pool circuit, which will purify the water naturally, according to needs.
The positively charged copper and silver ions will then seek out the negatively charged ions, the bacteria, and destroy them. Pool or spa ionization should be combined with a light oxidation treatment, such as chlorine, bromine, active oxygen, or ozonation.
